Getting the same error. Tried with two different templates, same
thing.
Tried removing most custom widgets, no difference. This is getting
frustrating.

Update: Managed to update the template with Konqueror, other people
report success with IE. So it seems the problem may lie with firefox.

I was having this error bX-bemz3t with Firefox 3 on OS X. The template
uploads works fine with Safari though...
